Checklists Get Used All Over the Place
You’ve probably heard of the preflight checklist used by pilots around the world.
It dates back to 1935, when Boeing’s prototype B-17 bomber crashed soon after takeoff. It turned out the pilots had forgotten to release a lock before taking off.
That led to the creation of a checklist that every pilot had to follow before each flight.
