A Simple Way to Limit Distractions on Your Smartphone

I used to have apps like Twitter and Instagram on the home screen of my phone.

“I use them for business reasons” I always told myself.

But when I had some time to kill, I would inevitably end up scrolling through my feed.

And not getting any real work done.

I finally got tired of wasting so much time — and often getting worked up about dumb things I saw.

Here’s what I did to solve the problem.

Get Rid of the Apps

The first step is simple — delete the offending apps.

Don’t just hide them so they’re not on your home screen. They’re still easy enough to open with a quick search.

Delete them from your phone entirely.

But what if you need to use them for something urgent?

You could reinstall them but that’s time-consuming. And you end up back where you started with the app a tap or two away.
